This is our 6" Hook & Loop Backing Plate. It has a 5/8" - 11 internal thread, with a short hook face, and 1/4" medium vinyl nitrile center. These backing plates are balanced during manufacturing and rated up to 10,000 rpm's, and will outlast and stay true longer than anything on the market. The Hook & Loop face allows you to easily attach and detach the grinding discs and polishing felts, and the thin rigid center encourages the backing plate to stay on plane when it's on the glass.
PLEASE NOTE: Do not use foam or soft/flexible backing plates. These type of backing plates absorb uneven pressure from your hand and transfer it to the disc on the glass. This can easily distort the glass without even knowing it. Also, we recommend using an angle grinder (buffer/polisher), but if you are using a regular drill you will need a 5/8" thread drill chuck adapter.

Our Backing plates are made with precision and rated up to 10,000 rpm's, and glide across the glass...instead of vibrating on it while you're getting scratches off it.
TIP: When putting away the backing plate, make sure to lay against a flat surface in order to retain proper shape.
